“Financial planning goes beyond investments—it’s about seeing the full picture. Achieving balance in my own life helps me bring everything together for my clients.”
While I began my career in transportation and logistics, I’ve always been fascinated by numbers and strategy. For years, I enjoyed the satisfaction of managing my own investments on the side, which eventually led me to rethink my career path. I found myself drawn to financial planning.
What really hooked me wasn’t the idea of crunching numbers or creating plans—it was the chance to help people. So, I took a few courses and kept my eyes open for the right opportunity. In a twist of fate, my wife, then a lawyer, suggested I reach out to T.E. Wealth (now CWB Wealth), a boutique financial planning firm that her company referred business to. A well-timed cold call turned into an interview, and I was hired in 2011. There, I found just what I’d been looking for: a role that wasn’t just a sales-based job, and a firm that adopted the philosophy of wanting to help people.
I started as a Paraplanner, which exposed me to different aspects of financial planning and deepened my industry knowledge. Today, I work with Private Wealth Advisors to understand our clients’ unique needs and help them navigate the bigger picture of their finances. From tax planning to estate planning and retirement strategies, we view everything under a holistic lens and guide them through each step to make sure they’re on the right path.
What surprises me most, is how central taxes are to everything in financial planning, and now it’s a strength I bring to every client’s plan. I spend a lot of time identifying opportunities—often catching things their accountant might have missed. Most importantly, I’m here to support—not sell. I’m dedicated to helping empower people with the tools and knowledge they need to secure their financial futures.
After graduating from UBC with a Commerce degree in 2003, I went on to obtain my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) designation in 2014. I earned a spot on the FPSC President’s List for finishing in the top three in the country on the final CFP exam, and was honoured by the FPSC in 2013. In 2017, I obtained my Registered Financial Planner (R.F.P.) designation.
Beyond the Office
Born and raised in Vancouver, I’m passionate about hockey, snowboarding, and discovering new places with my wife and kids. Nowadays, I play a different kind of role—chauffeur, chef, and companion to my kids—especially when I’m taking my son to hockey.
