“I see the world as a puzzle, and each business is a piece.”

You could say my dedication to strategy and performance started in high school as a lead guitarist for a cover band. Understanding how each element of the music fits into a broader performance that captures audiences taught me how strategy shapes real-world outcomes.

But my true interest in investment research ultimately started while working towards a Finance degree at the University of British Columbia. At the time, the financial crisis was unfolding, and I was drawn to world events more than my textbooks. That early interest developed over my career and solidified during a stint living abroad.

After university, I began a career in corporate banking, where I progressed from Analyst to Associate Director. My responsibilities included financial modeling, credit analysis, and capital markets advisory—primarily within the energy sector. Later, I joined ATB Financial’s special loans group, where I worked on challenging debt restructuring cases with substantial implications.

I later transitioned to working part-time at ATB to spend a year living abroad in London, England. This gave me a chance to explore potential career options while traveling across Europe, ultimately affirming my decision to pursue investment research.

After returning to Canada, I joined Scotiabank in corporate banking before moving to CWB Wealth in 2020, where I now focus exclusively on investment research. In analyzing industries, studying business models, and identifying opportunities for U.S. Equity strategy, I’m intrigued by how this knowledge can be applied to everyday life.

Beyond the Office

My wife and I enjoy travelling and exploring new destinations. Closer to home, I enjoy taking walks in parks and reading about history and psychology, which often inform my analytical approach. I am driven by a continuous effort to connect the dots between businesses and the world around me.
