“Constantly learning makes for an engaging and fulfilling career, but its real value lies in turning those insights into results for our clients.”

I began my career as an engineer and enjoyed solving the complex and technical problems of that profession. I’ve always been an avid reader though, and during my engineering era I began diving into investing literature. Investing started as a hobby for me, but the further I went down that road the more my obsession grew. The CFA program was my litmus test for a career change, and soon after writing the CFA level 1 exam I left engineering behind and fully immersed myself into the world of finance.

While some part of me still misses engineering, I find the hyper-competitiveness and broader focus of investing more compelling. I enjoy researching a wide range of businesses, industries, and economies, and the broader scope of knowledge that this career provides. In my opinion, constantly learning new things is engaging and fulfilling and being able to do that as a career is a privilege.

I joined CWB Wealth in 2019 and have been analyzing investment opportunities for our Canadian equity portfolios since. I appreciate the autonomy to dive into new investment ideas, help in stock selection and portfolio management decisions, and focus on adding value for our clients. Valuation is a core tenet to our investing philosophy, but we do take a holistic portfolio management approach and are on the constant lookout for new investment opportunities.

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in mechanical engineering and hold the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Beyond the Office

I’m passionate about staying active. Snowboarding is a favourite hobby, though I took a break to focus on family life and am now easing back into it. These days, much of my activity involves adventures with my kids or cheering them on at their activities.
